Nvidia benchmarks show the RTX 4070 taking on the RTX 3080

Good value?

RTX 3080 10GB MSRP: $700
RTX 3080 Ti 12GB MSRP: $1200
RTX 4070 Ti 12GB MSRP: $800
RTX 4070 12GB MSRP: $600

Ya completely missed the point, he didn't say "performance", he said "value".

$700 3080 was less than HALF the price of the $1500 3090 flagship with only a 10% deficit in performance.

$1200 4080 is only 25% cheaper than the $1600 4090 flagship with a 24% deficit in performance.

He's absolutely correct, the 3080 was an unusual value and something we'll likely never see again. There's a whole back story as to why it was the way it was.

Yes, exactly. A whopping 20% performance boost that costs $100 more, 2 years later, isn't impressive at all.

The 3080 offered 20-30% gains over the 2080Ti at nearly half it's launch price. The 3070 offered similar performance for around $500. Now they're trying to get us excited about "sidegrades"? Give me a break.
