Nvidia's upcoming RTX 2080 will offer up to double the performance of the GTX 1080

Where are all the HDR monitors to use this? as far as I'm aware there are two and they both cost nearly 2k Asus and Acer

add that to this cards price and its getting stupid now to pc game.

Nvidia has gone the way of Apple and just sees dollar signs now.....

This will have 2 effects, in my opinion, moving people to Console and killing the Enthusiast market.

Hopefully and I never thought id say this But I hope intel manages to bring something to the game even a low-mid range card at a reasonable price would be fantastic. These prices are too greedy.

Wait, Nvidia and Apple are in it for the *money*? Nah, yer puttin' me on!

Well I'm glad I'll always have the beneficence of AMD, Intel, and Berkshire Hathaway to assist me through these lean times.

I predict the 2k series is going to flounder and have trouble even approaching the sales of the last couple gens.

Brilliant marketing timing. Thanks to the wave of CryptoMining's overinflated pricing....this is going to almost "seem" like a bargain.

I could give a ****. It's not in my price range anyway so what the hell do I care. All I care about is 10xx prices coming down to something I can afford. Nvidia's price gouging is getting quite old and disgusting. Just like Apple.

Up to double the performance for up to double the price. Carry on , nothing to see here!
Indeed Mike, this is exactly the same thing I was thinking, lol.
Twice speed of .... aye, at twice the price.

Video cards are far too expensive and the public are being taken for a ride... full stop.

Notice all the pre orders everywhere. There's enough stagger in the prices that I can see the whole idea of pre order was a way for Nvidia to see what the market will bear. They dictate their margins better than just about any other pc tech company.

OR you could add a second 1080 GTX to your system and get almost twice the performance without DLSSR nonsense.

Unless of course NVIDIA gimps SLI filling it with stuttering and incompatibility with games just to force you to sell your existing 1080 for the new 2080 series.

I think I'll wait until a game comes out that can't be run at ultra settings 60 fps 1080 resolution. The 1080 is a beast! **** ray tracing. I'm not dishing out $1,000 CAD for an upgrade. $500 for a second 1080 GTX or less is a much better deal.

They measure their self worth and sense of completion based on what and how much they have. Deluded egos addicting to wanting. Never content with what they have.

It's really a 1st world problem. There are millions in the world without food and clean water living in poverty.

YES EXACTLY!

The good thing about new technology is the lowering of prices of existing technology.

I'll wait until the iPhone 12 comes out before I buy an iPhone 10 for half price too

Also, you can add a second 1080 GTX to get twice the performance for less than $500

GO AMD! Bring out decent cards please!

Seems like most reviewers on youtube think these slides during the presentation seem a bit fishy and for the extra price you may only see a 20 to 30 percent improvement and not the 50 percent as stated in the slides ! If that is true then expect the launch prices to not last long and some discounts a while after launch !
