Ok, i have a question bout my friends computer

Im posting this here casue i dont know where else to post it. The Problem is, whenever you turn his computer on the it seems like the monitor isnt picking up the computer. The light on the monitor just stays yellow andthe computer just keeps running. He says that it just stopped working. Im really stumped on this one, will apprciate anyones help

It's on Standby, but doesn't kick in.
Could be a cable problem, a PSU problem or too much load on a power strip.
Did he try turning the monitor completely off and booting, then turning it on after that?
What PSU does he have?

thanks, i thoughtthat it might be on standby as well. Just wasnt working, ill try what you said, and ill find out what psu he has and ill bring that info
