  1. Hi,

I have a GA-8S648FX motherboard with onboard sound but I cant get it to work. I had to reinstall XP and the CD I got for sound etc will not play anymore.....(thats a whole other story)....

Can anyone tell me how I can get the AV rack files so I can hear sounds?

When I have done a windows update...it has installed C-Media files and in device manager these files are showing as having a problem but the system wont find a better driver.

    Help please someone.....

    darby26

You need to go here and download the audio driver for your motherboard.

Note: Confirm that the model number for your motherboard is correct in your post above. I.e., you have the 8S648FX, not the 8S648FX-775, not the 8S648FX-L but the plain old 8S648FX.

EDIT: I see you have fixed it. Good news.
