  1. I was hoping to get some advice.
I fell asleep with my laptop accidentally on my bed. When I woke up I looked over and my laptop was incredibly hot. I flipped it upside down (as most people have told me to do) but when I turned the laptop on there were all these lines across the screen both vertical and horizontal. Igot scared as the laptop was still working but you could barely make out what was on the screen. I tried to shut it down but the screen was too streaky to make out the power button.

The laptop's motherboard has been damaged from overheating, it will need to be replaced or you'll have to replace the laptop

Depending on model, could it merely be the graphics chip/module? Something which can be bought used on eBay?
