PC3200 DDR 512mb or PC2700 DDR 768mb... What is faster?

What is faster?
More ram 768mb at 333mhz, or less 512mb at 400mhz?

For gaming?

For pictures?

Overall computer speed?

I have a 2.5 celeron processor with 400mhz frontsidebus ASUS mobo.

If you can run the PC3200 Ram at that speed without touching your CPU's FSB, then the system will be faster. On the other hand, you have to pay attention to your memory usage while you're using heavy applications. If the memory occupation goes above 512mb then you might have some slowdowns if you take the 512mb PC3200 path.

In other words, you're the best person to know what will work best for you.

If a game only recommends 512mb ram will the PC3200 be faster than the 768 PC2700 for the system? I prefer a gaming setup.

If it takes a little bit longer to edit pics no biggy.

Do you guys mix Ram. 2700 with 3200. And what about ram manufactures. Can I mix Kingston with Ultra ram if they are both PC3200. Some techs say mixing manufactures is bad.

I have PC2700 and PC3200 mixed together, but both sticks are Kingston.

If you mix Ram speeds, they will all clock down to the slowestso PC2700 + PC3200 = PC2700.

& yes it's no recommended to mix Ram brands/types/speeds.
