Photoshop CS2

HI All, sorry, new to this. I just downloaded the legacy CS2 and it goes through installation and then comes up installation fail. Any ideas please.

Macbook Pro, OS X 10.8.4, downloaded Mac Version today.

To the best of my knowledge, Adobe decided not to give that away any more. We had the page posted here for the entire CS-2 suite, plus Premiere.

Now the bookmark goes to a log in page.

It's only a guess, but Adobe may have changed the serial. I tried to link the the Adobe download page for someone who was still running CS-1 (PS-7?, and it was unavailable without login.. They've apparently tightened up access.

I simply don't know what affect that may have on copies in the wild.

They might have cranked up their activation servers again. Only God knows.

It might be something different, but that's all I've got.

OK, for everyone's edification, here's the article on free CS-2 from our archives:
https://www.techspot.com/news/51316...-suite-2-for-free-but-they-didnt-mean-to.html

As you can see, there's a link to the downloads provided. That link now leads to here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads

Which you'll see is now a log in in page.

That we still have the serial numbers on this site is a good thing.

However, Adobe programs have an internal process running called, "FNP licensing service". This is the phone home activation process. I don't think you can kill this and still have the program remain operational.

It is also present in Photoshop Elements 7, but oddly PSE 7 doesn't need activation. With that said, I would still be wary of going on line with a working copy of PSCS-2.

OK, so I'm superstitious. The question remains, "am I as superstitious as Adobe is greedy"?
