Problems w/icons

Have Win XP and all of a sudden duplicate icons are being put on my desktop. Have AVG anti-virus and have kept it updated, and have done critical upadates. Have not added anything new. Does anyone have any suggestions on what is going on or how to correct problem?

Well sounds like mouse problems. It could be going wacky, or else it's to sensitive and you are accidentally copying the icons yourself. Be more careful, or try a new mouse, to test that.

If neither of those, then it could be a 3rd party app I suppose. Refere to the Security forum and read the stickies about cleaning malware and so forth. It would be good maintenance just the same. Run a virus scan online, adaware, spyware, ewido, hijackthis and so forth.
