Hello everyone,
I see there is a lot of threads about PSUs so I'm hesitant about posting another one. I just have a quick question. My parents' PC (HP a250y) suddenly stopped working and I traced the problem to the PSU (I used another PSU to verify this).

Well, I don't have a clue what to look for in a replacement PSU, besides the max power rating. The original PSU is Bestec ATX-250-12Z. So, I need a PSU with at least a 250W max out, that is ATX form factor(?). The main connector is a 20 pin. I also need at least 4 peripheral connectors w/ 1 floppy drive connector, and an ATX12V P4 connector.

Looking at newegg, there is A LOT to choose from with many different types available (ATX, ATX12V, ATX12V/EPS12V, ATX12V/MicroATX, and MicroATX).

I just need some guidance. Looking to spend $30-$40...that seems to be the average price of the PSUs on newegg that are 250-300W.

Thank you
