Quake4 abnormal display with ATI

Hello!

I bought recently quake4 and after installation of game and latest driver and patches, the game run smooth with high quality settings (I have ATI 9800XT) but it has awfull terrible display bug, see picture. The screen is full of red pixel blinking everywhere. I tried to run with lower quality settings, changed ati control center 3d settings, nothing helped, Im running out of idea. Any idea what could be wrong?

I had similar visual bug with riddick chronicle , but I could get rid of it by selecting old shadder version in visual settings.

gotcha....

the option enable specular is freaking the card out for some unknown reason. damn.. this problem has ruined my weekend game plan... but now its fixed.

I can run the game in high quality everything turned on except specular.
