AMD launches the "$350" Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM

People will meat shield 8GB forever. Even once consoles get 32 or 64 GB of RAM, people will still defend $300+ 8GB cards for some reason. so why not 6GB cards? 4GB? You can run below 1080p low and get games to run on said cards. So shouldn't we have a 6GB 9060XT?
You hold your pseudo quite well, because nobody that is sane would be able to demonstrate this kind of logic.

Hey, stop the press, Steve from Hardware Unboxed is saying that 8GB is not enough for a couple of titles in anecdotical situations... so it must mean that gaming on 8GB is IMPOSSIBLE at 1080p!!!

At 1080p memory is not an issue.

And Steve showed in many it is a huge problem, leading to pathetic 1% lows and a woeful gaming experience despite highs that may be 60fps. It's also useless amount of vram for RT and even DLSS needs memory. You are paying for a card with advertisied features that is often too memory limited to gain any benefit.

8GB should not be in any card above the 5050 class, and this new 5060 can barely beat a 3060 Ti. If this card were 12GB it would actually be a pretty decent gpu and capable of handling 1440p in most cases. PAthetic to see AMD still offer this crap in the 9060 which should also be called the 9050XT.

All Nvidia needed was 16GB 5060 Ti and 12GB 5060, same with AMD 16GB 9060XT, 12GB 9060.

Hardware Unboxed uncovered issues in an handful of titles that are consoles developed with close to 16GB of VRAM.

HOWEVER, it is not the norm and it is HARDLY making games UNPLAYABLE at 1080p.

FACT - Techpower numbers are showing mere percents in both 1% low and Average framerates at 1440p! So stop getting brainwashed and making the generalization that games are unplayable with 8GB of VRAM, because they are not unplayable.

FACT - If you are buying a 8GB GPU, you already making a concession on the price because you will make concessions on the fidelity also. You will likely not play games at max settings anyway!

FACT - If you are using upscaling, this become an even lesser issue because your are running the games at lower resolutions anyway.

You are the one obviously missing the point. This is a 60 class card, it is the entry level of the gaming GPUs. I am fine with a 8GB version because it is enough at 1080p.
60 class was never entry level, it was low end. The 50 class and lower are entry level. It does seem that Nvidia is using cut down entry level gpus for low end lately. 😵‍💫

Also frame gen raises the vram requirements.
