Samsung 753s Monitor Problem

I have a 3 yr old Samsung 17" 753S monitor.Last night while working the screen started fluctuating and went blank after few seconds.I immediately switched off the system and restarted it by replugging the cables.It looked good for 4-5 sec but again went blank.Also it started smelling like a burnt object .Today morning when I switched it on the screen looked distorted and again smelt of burning.Till now I haven't switched it on.I know it needs to go for repairs.Is it a major/minor problem?

Well, as you assumed there is a problem with your monitor. Whether or not it's major I do not know, but, I just thought I'd toss this at you. It's probably going to cost more in labor to have it repaired than it would for you to buy another used monitor.
