Sony hacked again, this time for phishing purposes

These comments suggest that there are either no moderators online, or the cumulative IQ of this website just dropped 40 points.....

On topic, it really is too bad for Sony. They don't really have time to recover from one attack to the next. And while people say they deserve the attacks (which I don't entirely agree with either), one should realize that this is also going to hurt the consumer in one way or the other.

Consider the following two options: #1) Confidence is Sony fades and people start buying non-Sony goods. With a major competitor mostly out of the way, prices on popular electronics get jacked up. #2) Sony recovers but increases prices due increased security across the board.

These are of course only two outcomes with a possibility of thousands more. But the idea is fairly simple. I highly doubt this is going to HELP the consumer in any way, with the exception of increased security online, which we all expected anyway.
