sony q160s

i have a new dell pc it has a sony q160s dvd drive but i cant burn and dvds, i can burn cds , i can burn music and even movies on cds but nothing on dvd only my cd rom is recognized but my dvd rom or drive or whatever you call it , dell is sending me a new optical drive has anyone else had any trouble with his sony q160s drive thank you bye bye ArTeMiS

It sounds like the DVD laser is dead. That's why it won't work. The CD laser is different.

At least you are getting a new drive, that should fix all probelms.
