Sony revealed the logo for the PlayStation 5 and the internet made fun of it

Don't advertise a big reveal, with drama, when you don't actually reveal anything new. So for that they deserve the mockery. Granted, they may have been trying to be funny, but it didn't play out so well. The Big Reveal on a new logo is kind of meh! anyway even if it was new. As for the usefulness of the new console, they have plenty of leeway and opportunity to surprise us. Try not to mess it up,...Sony.

Did I miss it? What was your evaluation method for that?
Please take a moment and read my post #19

I wouldn't call my Honda logo joke laugh out loud hilarious, but it is sort of whimsical.
So it IS funny? ... Or not? Whether intentional or not it was funny as hell. That's the point - it was funny. And you see so many people here either not reading the article, not understanding the context of what actually was funny, then acting like they're some "moral justice warrior" condemning everyone who participated in expressing a healthy sense of humour.

Its sad.
The correct term is "Social Justice Warrior" or, "SJW" for short. Sometimes, "snowflake" is attached. The internet is overpopulated with them. It's actually not as bad here, as at many, many, other sites

You seem all hostile because everybody doesn't agree with your POV. Then should I assume, you think you're in the right?

I just write it all off to the old adage, "opinions and a**holes, everybody has one of each".

CEOs are all either / or / and, sociopaths, pathological liars, egomaniacs.

So, whatever they say, I don't take at face value, and start to read between the lines to try and determine their ulterior motives. That said, I'd just like to know if it was done on purpose. There's no chance I'll be buying a Play Station either way. So, I guess, "I don't have a horse in this race". (If you can abide me using yet another tired cliche').

I thought it was funny. :) But I wouldn't condemn any who did or did not.

No the words I used were the ones I wanted. I was expressing dismay over people judging and condemning those who thought this was funny. I get that not everyone thinks this is funny - nothing wrong with that. But there's apparently some, who's "moral standards" decide what people should find funny or not, and they have expressed that here. Some of it was just from people missing the context, but if one didn't read the article or couldn't determine what others were finding funny, they don't need to condemn those who understood it. I made a few posts trying to clarify the context for those who obviously didn't consider the context. Not sure how one could view that as hostile, unless one needed to to justify their responses.

...

How was I being hostile? Perhaps you are being overly sensitive (I won't comment on that further ;)). I don't care if other people find this funny or not. The only issue I expressed at all (outside of merely noting that others were missing the context and not understanding was actually funny to most people), was dismay in the fact that others who didn't think it was funny, for various reasons, were flexing their perceived morale high ground muscle to judge those who thought it was funny or had actually read and understood the context or who had watched the presentation and knew what the article was referring to (although the ability to understand was there within the article).

Please don't project on to me, or make assumptions about me. Thanks. :)

You sure do provoke easily. Are you sure you're not the one "projecting?

Besides, "ethics, morals, and a value system, are all integral parts of a societal structure.

So, in reality, "moral justice warrior", and "social justice warrior", are completely interchangeable terms, synonyms, if you prefer. "SJW, is more prevalent in today's colloquial jargon.

Here @JimboJoneson, I'll simplify my position so that it will be easier for you to process, I don't feel like listening to you about your moral outrage over other people's moral outrage

Free advertising through controversial logo. Sony loves it that way.
You know, I was thinking that earlier.

Like the Hollywood types say, "there's no such thing as bad press".

I'm sure they have fairly accurate sales projections, and simply didn't feel obligated to put on a big show at the CES.

Steven Colbert did a massively funny monologue the other night, at some of the garbage people were pumping out at the show. One such notable was a headband that was claimed, could help you monitor and control your alpha waves "while you slept". Another "notable" was a robot cat that answered 20 commands and came when you called it. A "cat", really? That's not a cat, it's a dog.

None of my sentiment was directed at you, unless you were one of the ones condemning those for what they thought funny, I didn't bother to check, but you acting like I'm being hostile or attacking you specifically - nothing could be further from the truth. All I did was explain the context that was enabling others to easily condemn those who thought it was funny. How you find that hostile is beyond me.

Sheesh ... someone's cranky today ;)

Mine too Cliff, but only when they're god damned good and ready.

That said, when you finger tap the side of a food can, they come with "god's speed".

But you gotta admit, "sit", "stand", "shake hands", and run down and catch the bad guy, ("sic 'em"), are all off the table.

Same here...except for being on the table...which is very much on the table.

Oh yes, so the PS5 logo is gaining weight? my god people! are we really going to start fat shaming here Jimbo? for shame man!

@red1776 , I think you misunderstood. That was me, fat shaming the Honda logo...(And damned proud of it too..! :p ). You can't take "fat shaming away from me either, I know my rights..!

Oh yeah..right. What a supercilious twit I've been.
I have carefully reread the posts and now see that Jimbo was age discriminating against the Honda logo....for shame Jimbo! ?

Not only have I gained some weight as I've aged, enough that I have to "fat shame" myself (**), but my vision has dimmed as well. For example, I thought the exclamation point after "Jimbo", was a small "T", rendering it thus; "Jimbot". My bad .

(**) I barely crack a deuce, but I was hoping to carry 165 to 170 with a 15% BMI well into my 90's, while still being able to lift one end of a Volkswagen without a jack.

Still, pizza, ice cream, and Bacarrdi "Oakheart", on Saturday night, are the blessed things my cardiologist will never take away from me either.

Hee Hee….you said crack a deuce ? ? ? ?

"doctor, will I be able to lift a Volkswagen?"
"Why certainly"
"gee that's great cuz I couldn't before"

See what I did there?
Kind of a variation of the piano thing.

..okay then

FIXED...!

Besides, "crack" and "crank", are two entirely different chemical compounds. Do I have to bring you up to "speed", on those various colloquialisms?

Maybe you could wait until the querimonious Jimbo(t) gets back into the fray.
That's about as much fun as waiting for the vet to inject the 2nd killing shot into a pet you've had for more than a dozen years

Don't I know it.

My cat will sit when I tell him to sit, it's just that he never sits where I want him to. Usually he chooses the most inconvenient position for one of the humans in the household, whether it be on the plate of food they're attempting to eat, on a puzzle they're attempting to complete, or, in some cases, on their neck as they sleep.
