Sound card problem - MotherBoard : MSI, Model 915GLM-V

Hi,

Am getting no sound
I have MSI Motherboard, Model 915GLM-V.
See attachment for how it looks in the device manager.

Download and install the latest MSI audio drivers for the motherboard...

Look under "Realtek ALC Series AC97 Audio Driver"

Tried it, but still same problem

Thanks for your reply.

I downloaded and installed the driver, still no sound.

I checked the connections on motherboard, checked BIOS settings.
Also tried with two different headphones to ensure that I am not trying with a faulty headphone.

Only thing left is that I jumper up the pins 5-6, 9-10 in JAUD1 so that the audio signals go to rear ports and then check in the rear ports.

I wonder if this is all I can try or there is something else.

Well, the onboard sound should be ENABLED in BIOS, and if that doesn't work then the problem is with the software, OS or driver. Those Realtek units can be a real pain to work with, but there is usually some kind of low-end software included with the motherboard with all of the drivers. Do you recall seeing/using any kind of audio software or mixer when the computer was set up?
