For him, buying a 3090 is like putting a few coins into the vending machine to get a can of soda.

Correct. My very extrapolation of the difference between geek & nerd, qualifies me a nerd.

So to my next point, a person can be a nerd AND a geek, but the 2 can also be mutually exclusive. There are nerds that don't step a foot into Geekdom, and vice versa. We all know one geek that can't do math or science for the life of em, and a nerd that doesn't know the difference between a Gnome & an Elf, or a Ryzen & a Tiger Lake. It's a jungle out there.

Here is what nVidia's plan has been all along. Discredit real reviewers like Steve and Tim in favour of mainstream celebrities like Henry Cahill who are incapable of being impartial because they don't know enough to do so. Sure, his rig is impressive (being richer than Midas helps) and it's very possible that he built it himself (it's not hard, I did my first when I was only 12) but I kinda doubt that he has any expertise beyond that.

It looks like nVidia is now going to go after mainstream celebrities to endorse their products as well as online "influencers". Here we have the star of the TV adaptation of one of the most popular gaming franchises suddenly getting the most overpriced video card on the market at a time when there aren't any in the wild to be found. Also note that what he has is a FOUNDER'S EDITION which is only available from nVidia directly. We also have techspot showing that nVidia's strategy will work because they think for some reason that this is news.

Somebody was given an RTX 3090 by nVidia. It's not news.

Plus, I don't understand why the setup is listed as having a 3900X instead of (him getting) the 3950X. It's a $200 difference, for him it would (literally??) be stupid not the get the max CPU, no!?

.. And, frankly, the mobo is whatever. I take it that he isn't the kind of person who has to compromise on price (kinda makes a little cash filming movies). Not saying he should be burning money and throwing it away, but WHY NOT get a better motherboard; because there *are* better ones available. Aanyway. =)

The price tag on rtx series goes too high for normal people.
but that he can buy a rtx 3090 that ever can be bought by normals. thats a sponsored gpu. the cpu are good enough. the nxt gen 4xxx on gpu cpu and ssd nvme pcie 4.0-5.0 can hanndle games like gta 1-6 good enough into the future.
A FE card like gtx 1080 ti FE still run good. but that would now be in software low med high. hardware rtx like 30xx can run much better by tecs.
im just now on rtx 3070 TE 8gb.
thats doubble bandwidt use of a normal pcie 3.0 gpu.
only dual gpus can beat gtx 1080 ti FE . but gtx has only software to use no hardware LIKE rtx cards.
using a gpu thats runs like 4-8 gtx top end gpus together are nice.
spending more then a 3070-3090 for us ritch people are no do yet.
but sponsored gpus cpus ram buildt to tak the throne away from low high geeks nerds can be a nice ting to do.
if the give /gave it away thats nice.
but me on low budget can only get a rtx 3060 -3080 ti and still be happy with fps in games.
pcie 4.0 handdles cyberpunk nicely.
if I ran out of dual 2x rtx 3070 te 8gb it would be fun. so getting dual bandwidt and use 16 gb together would be insame.
we just have to wait for pcie 5.0 to get use of nxt gen cpu gpus into the future.
im doing nice in every pc game with i9-10900 non K version and a 16-32 gb ram 3200 mhz no o.c at all.
and thats just on a ASUS PRIME H470-PLUS ATX Hovedkort | Dustinhome.no mb.
if I need better cpu gpu I must wait months to get new MB ram and so on.
ill just keeping on playing in 1k-4k and getting a 8k for 140000 nok when needed into the future. or just like linius 16k on xxx screens together.
