The US plans to offer EU citizens the same privacy rights as Americans

The government is creating the "All Seeing Eye" through their surveillance agencies. In some days Snowden gave them even more power because now everyone fears of being watched. By all this being revealed means we're aware of them watching us..... also known as:

NSA Spook #1: I can't stand this guy.
NSA Spook #2: ...Who?
NSA Spook #1: The guy in file 436-9c. He drives my OCD nuts.
NSA Spook #2: Dude, it's just a file...
NSA Spook #1: No, this guy ALWAYS undercooks his Hot Pockets. It's like, wtf?!
NSA Spook #2: ...You're weird, man.

But it is our understanding that US citizens have no privacy whatsoever, so please, our answer in Europe is no thanks.
Now you listen Buster, you can just barely opt out of Google "Chrome", theses days. Why would you think you can say, "we don't want US surveillance", and not get it anyway? There is no check box you can "un-tick.". Having the US' collective nose up your behind is like malware, you get it whether you want it or not. Now, turn your head and cough while saying, "God bless the USA".....You need to be checked for a moral hernia...

Just sounds like propaganda courtesy of the regime. Doesn't sound sincere after the fact. What an embarrassment.

Is it not a way to 'extend & legitimize' US's power to control European's privacy, in which ever way they deem it fit? Creating such laws regarding other nations is nonsense, a political gimmick at best, a bad joke at worst.

Even worse is EU's response, instead of rejecting this notion of letting US 'granting' rights to their citizens, they are in a way surrendering their 'independence' (if there is still some left of it) .........

You need to go back and read this thread from the beginning. (At least posts 7 to 14, or so). Trust me, "the bad joke", aspect of this topic has been thoroughly embellished.
