ubisoft crew watch dogs delayed the crew next generation consoles

Ubisoft has announced they will be delaying two of their most anticipated upcoming games. Cooperative racing title The Crew and stealth action thriller Watch Dogs are both being pushed back to provide more time to develop the games for next generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony.

In a statement on the matter, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said their long-term goal is to win the next generation and the tough decision they’ve made to delay the titles will have an impact on their short-term performance. They are convinced, however, that over the long term they will prove to be correct in terms of customer satisfaction and value for shareholders.

Watch Dogs was originally slated to drop next month as a bundled launch title alongside the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It puts players in control of Aiden Pearce, a hacker that is able to infiltrate various technical infrastructures in Chicago. The fate of those bundles – and the customers that have already pre-ordered them –is unclear at this hour. All we know is that the game is being pushed back to next spring.

The Crew, meanwhile, was originally scheduled to launch early next year so a delay won’t affect next generation launch day bundles. The game is described as having an open and persistent world based on the United States that takes 90 minutes to drive from coast to coast. If successful, it could make a serious dent in Need for Speed’s arcade-action racing dominance.

Ohhhhhh, damn son. There will be lots of chair throwing in gaming. D: March? Could be in time for a drop in console prices.

And gamers who pre-ordered shouldn't rage on this decision. Look what EA/Maxis did to Simcity.

If those two pics are actual representation of these upcoming games, wow at the details. (I have a very small game library so I don't know if the 'detailed graphics' is the norm nowadays.)

Some people....I'm telling ya....sigh

Watch Dogs & The Division are the only 2 games that have me considering trying console gaming again, and it looks like neither will release for at least another decade.

Unfortunately Watch Dogs is going up against Dark Souls II. Sorry, Watch Dogs, but I'll be dying a lot in Dark Souls II.
