Unable to use USB 2.0 mouse in Windows 8.1

Hi, I'm no longer able to use my usb 2.0 mouse in Windows 8.1. and I want that back. Can I use an earlier driver for my usb 3.0 ports so that I'm able to keep using usb 2.0 devices? With Microsoft support I get absolutely nowhere. Thanks for any advice. By the way I 've already tried most solutions like uninstalling the usb drivers, it doesn't help.

Windows 8.1 fully supports usb 3.0 and usb 2.0 There is no need to install drivers. Maybe the mouse died. If it's still possible to upgrade to Windows 10 I recommend that you at least think about it.

Try using a different mouse if you have one because like what bazz2004 said ”Windows 8.1 fully supports usb 3.0 and usb 2.0”
