Voting for joshua, that core 2 quad bottlenecks even a gt 1030.

not really..that c2q is similar specked to the phenoms..so its just a intel version of a phenom.. and actually no it wont really bottleneck a 1030 since that gpu is for lower end pc's and usage, so booth can run up to a 1050 with not much issues but anything after like 1060-1080 then it sure a bottleneck(plus the pc might throw that gpu back out at you..hehe)

DDR2-800 is the same ram that I use for my old school windows XP rig. Give that guy an upgrade!

ddr2 pc here too..

I am still using a Gateway PC with an Intel Core2Duo E6500 and an ATI Radeon HD2900XT

The Phenom IIs are faster than the Core2s. The Phenom IIs have a higher IPC and support DDR3 RAM. The Core2s only support DDR2

I wouldn't call them "beasts".. those phenoms are a similar to that core2quad.. (owner of a phenom 955)

Meh... those 4 other machines could still do laps around my QX9650 and 4GB of DDR2, would trade systems in a heartbeat.

well yes that is kinda true.. phenoms have more fire power than intels 775 platform.. but some of the core2s can run ddr3 ram..like 1066mhz or 1333 if your lucky..now what kinda improvement that will have over ddr2 is another thing

why would you use DDR2 when the Phenom II supports DDR3? Phenom II x4 released 2009 v.s Core 2 Duo released 2006. The PhenomII stomps the crap out of the Core2Duo and Quad.

well good question.. a was gona upgrade it to ddr3..I bought a 8 gig ddr3 kit..but every time I said to go get the board always something happened an the money went to something else..when I finally had the budget to spend I got online to get it..aaand it was out of stock..permanently.. so im kinda stuck there with it..plus my crappy gpu doesn't make it any better
