USB3 not recognised

I have 2x USB3 ports on the front of my Pc. When I plug my galaxy S5 in there is a pop-up saying it can perform faster if I plugged it into a USB3 port.

The drivers are up to date and I know the S5 is USB3

any ideas?

The front 2 USB ports may not actually be USB3. Are the plastic inserts black or blue? You might find USB3 ports on the back of the PC

I have usb3 on front and back - all blue ports, as well as other usb2 ports.

I think I found the issue - I am on EE and only Vodafone shipped the phones with usb3 cables (2 connectors on phone end rather than one)
