Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines crash to desktop

By lexnessmonstah

  1. I just got a new laptop, an inspiron 1520. I put VTM:B on it and it was working just fine all night and all morning. Then this afternoon when I went to play, every time I would click the desktop icon to load it, the starting graphic would come up, then the loading screen, and then it would go right back to my desktop like nothing happened.

It logs every time it crashes and I installed the 1.2 patch and the unofficial 5.2 patch as well, but nothing is working. Any help would be wonderful.

    hey lexnessmonstah

Is the game the only thing that was installed before it stopped working? Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the game? Also, try updating all your video card drivers... A system restore to a date before the install of the game might also work....

    Hope these help

Quite often when one installs a patch with it comes a NEW executable file to actually start the game. So, your Desktop shorcut would not work properly. Delete that, go to the game folder and make a new one.
