Your computer is clean

1. This step will remove all cleaning tools we used, it'll reset restore points (so you won't get reinfected by accidentally using some older restore point) and it'll make some other minor adjustments...
This is a very crucial step so make sure you don't skip it.
Download [IMG]http://www.imgdumper.nl/uploads6/51a5ce45267c1/51a5ce45263de-delfix.pngDelFix by Xplode to your desktop. Delfix will delete all the used tools and logfiles.

Double-click Delfix.exe to start the tool.
Make sure the following items are checked:
 • Activate UAC (optional; some users prefer to keep it off)
 • Remove disinfection tools
 • Create registry backup
 • Purge System Restore
 • Reset system settings
Now click "Run" and wait patiently.
Once finished a logfile will be created. You don't have to attach it to your next reply.

2. Make sure Windows Updates are current.

3. If any trojans, rootkits or bootkits were listed among your infection(s), make sure, you change all of your on-line important passwords (bank account(s), secured web sites, etc.) immediately!

4. Check if your browser plugins are up to date.
Firefox - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
other browsers: https://browsercheck.qualys.com/ (click on "Scan without installing plugin" and then on "Scan now")

5. Run Malwarebytes "Quick scan" once in a while to assure safety of your computer.

6. Run Temporary File Cleaner (TFC) and AdwCleaner weekly (you need to redownload these tools since they were removed by DelFix).

7. (optional) If you want to keep all your programs up to date, download and install FileHippo App Manager.
The Update Checker will scan your computer for installed software, check the versions and then send this information to FileHippo.com to see if there are any newer releases.

8. When installing\updating ANY program, make sure you always select "Custom " installation, so you can UN-check any possible "drive-by-install" (foistware), like toolbars etc., which may try to install along with the legitimate program. Do NOT click "Next" button without looking at any given page.

Thank you very much!

But still, I don't have my Users folder, and those files who vanished aren't back. I cannot find my vanished documents which were on desktop, and when I start a game for example, I cannot load the savegame since that was in Users folder. Also my C: disk is still crowded (only 6 out of 256 GB free) and that makes no sense cause I don't see what is taking up so much space. Is there any way to retrieve those files? Since it all begun with checking "show hidden files and folders", what would happen if I uncheck that - is there a possibility that those files would reappear?

Also, you're telling to remove restore point - ok, it makes sense regarding the fact that virus may come back - but isn't there a possibility that I can retrieve those files like that? And maybe then do this whole process again and be clean again?

I already changed some important passwords, I will change everything that is left. But how do I know if trojans, boolkits or rootkits were listed?

Thank you aagain very much for your help!

So, something strange happened, what I predicted actually; when I unchecked "show hidden files&folders" everything reappeared! Before that, I tried with this answer you provided, but it didn't made the difference. I also tried to search for files manually - no luck. Now, I have all of my files, but I do suspect there must be a virus or something still, cause that behavior is strange, isn't it? I didn't do system restore, I didn't follow your last steps from yesterday (to remove all cleaning tools etc.) and I believe I should run them all again, what do you think? There are alot of temp folders in my users/Marina/appdata/local folder, and they take over 80 GB's; I'm sending you screenshots of what happened when I unchecked show hidden files, and of the local folder.

So, what happened, long story short: checking the "show hidden files and folders" made files dissapear (users folder, documents, pictures, everything from the desktop). Unchecking it, made them reappear again. And also, C. disk almost full, with users/Marina/appdata/local folder taking more than 80 GB.

Sending you the screenshots.

First of all, your computer is definitely clean.
While searching for the issue about missing Users folder, I've seen some posts about checking.unchecking "show hidden files&folders", which helped.
Why it helped, I have no idea. Must be some Windows glitch.
As for users/Marina/appdata/local folder I'd assume that all those folders starting with "Temp***" should be safe to remove manually.
Go ahead and see if it'll bring you some space back.

Ok, so I dtected the folder - it was users/Marina/appdata/local/adobe/lightroomj/caches/video/media cache files that was taking up the space, so I emptied it. I googled and it seemed they are not necessary.

Then I run malwarebytes - no infections.
Adwcleaner - no infections
Roguekiller - 4 items (sending a screnshot) I deleted it - I guess?
Sophos virus removal: 1 threat - Mal/Generic-S (malware) -sending screenshot - I cleaned it

Why some programs detects viruses/malware and some don't? Does it mean that I should leave ones that detect it?

So, what are you suggesting now? Should I do those steps what you said now? To install and run delfix?

When you said "Delfix will delete all the used tools and logfiles", but then you mention to run Malwarebytes, TFC and Adwcleaner weekly - so I guess they won't be affected?

Sorry, I wrote THIS previously but I forgot to click on "Post reply" button...

Different programs look for slightly different issues. That's why we use more than one of those programs.
Delfix won't remove Malwarebytes, TFC or Adwcleaner.
Yes, go ahead with my previous instructions.

My computer now (well, one of the programs) quarantined delfix saying it's a malware. Should I try again, or can I just leave it the way it is? For me it's fine now

Ok, I will see.

However, thank you very much for all of your help! It was very nice of you and helpful! If not a problem, let's not close this topic yet for few more days, in case something happens again. Thank you! :)
