Windows restart after 15 seconds

I have a PC that does everything from the moment I push the button to the moment I click on my account ( I have Win XP ). As soon it finish I get a pop up. Telling me that I have a problem and the computer will restart. It only gives me 15 seconds. The PC will restart and the process will start all over again. Same POP UP will come up and restart my pc

Any ideas??
Thank you

try to cut down the internet before log in on windows. If it restarts why don't u enter in safe mode and try to check on any suspecious program on the start programs or check with an updated antivirus. and does it gives you more details like what program failed?

I don't have to get on the inernet to get this pop up. I don't even click on any Icon. It just take about 10 to 30 seconds for this POP up to tell me to save everything becuase it needs to restart the PC.
To answer your question. NO, I don't get any other message. I don't know what programs are running becuse I don't have enough time for to check for other solutions or programs running

Safe Mode. I know how to get in that area.
How do I find out what programs are poping up at the start up?

Thank you

Personally I use WinPatrol to check if something new gets in the start up or modify the host file. I find this tool very useful and have save me a lot of times from junk programs, virus, spywares, etc. http://www.winpatrol.com/

Also you can manually check in the regedit. Start>Run> and write regedit. Look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I have seen other process running in hide mode which you can's see in these directories and modifing the registry by your own can harm your computer if you are not sure what you are deleting. So i recommend you WinPatrol because you can disable and enable programs. Then look in the internet for more details about every suspecious program.

While you are in safe mode also you can check the event viewer start>administrative tools>event viewer. If you can't see the tools you have to enable it by right clicking on start>properties then in Start Menu tag click on personalize. In advance options tag look for administrative tools checkbox and enable it. On the event viewer look at system or applications and you will see more details of what happened.

ehhh probably the names that i mentioned don't match exaclty you OS because i have winxp in spanish but the idea is the same;)
