you need to be more specific about your CPU (model#, socket, fsb, etc?). since there are several Pentium-4 models that run at 2.8GHz.

according to the CPU support list for the GA-8I865GME-775-RH(rev. 1.0), all socket-775 P4's @2.8GHz are supported. if you have an older socket-478 P4 then it will not work.
