xp on a usb mem stick it says 'Error loading operating system"

Hi could you help plz?

Hi i've got a compaq evo N400 laptop... this laptop has no cd or floppy drive... the laptop is wiped! the usb port works... but when i put xp on a usb mem stick it says 'Error loading operating system'
any ideas?

How did you "put XP on a usb mem stick"? Simply copying some files over is not going to work.
