Hi,
I have a customer who has a fairly modern computer and is running windows 98 on it.

He has decided to format it and install Windows XP Home SP2. (Genuine OEM CD)

I boot off the windows xp cd and format the drive, then it goes through the process of copying the files to the hdd. Then it reboots and is supposed to continue installing windows in the GUI install interface.

But instead it reboots, then the windows logo appears with the green scrolling bar. The bar scrolls once and then freezes the computer up. I have restarted the computer several times and it freezes in exactly the same spot. Anyone know how I can get around this and continue installing windows???

What I have tried so far:
New HDD (Seagate 80GB IDE drive).
New IDE Cables.
Reset the Bios.
Removed additional PCI cards (ie. Internal modem)
Changed memory to another slot.
Disabled Extra Items in Bios - Such as USB / Onboard Sound / etc...

The current system is:
Celeron 2400mhz
512mb ddr memory
Asus P4SP-MX all in one mainboard.
40gb Western Digital HDD.

Any Help would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Christopher
