ok sorry this is so old and bumping it but i overclocked my amd 3200+ from 2.0 ghz to 2.2ghz and it took about 15 seconds off the time is that good for 200more mhz or should i be seeing better results.

heh i Oc-ed my 3500+ from 2.21Ghz to 2.64 Ghz and finished that test in 1min 20s..is that good? :D
oh and btw i think amd still rulz intel :p

Just to back it up.

CPU was $230 Au (Now unavailable) 144 S939 Opteron (100Quid?)
@300MHz, ram on 1.66 divider, 2.8v (As high as the board goes)

Std speed 2GHz. If I had some decent RAM it'd really boogie.
Using Gigabyte GA8N-sc939 board, el cheapo RAM, 6600GT (AGP), Audigy 2, Twinhan DTV, Antec 480w, WD200Gb SATA2, Arctic Cooler 64 Pro.

Oh yeah, it has a low performance operator :haha:

Nah, the 2500+ Barton I had (At 3200+) was Ok, but I built a Venice SLi for a friend and got jealous. I knew the Opty's were the way to go and got in early. 2Mb Cache seems to make a big diff in some tests. Benchmarks aren't everything, if it does what U ask of it quickly and without error, it's sweet!

As soon as I went 64 bit (32 bit XP) everything seemed effortless! I'm saving for a Dual core Opty!

Bang for a budget!

I'm also restricted to an NF3 board. I couldn't wear a new GPU as well.

thats very impressive mr. papschmere.. now i want to know how you got generic RAMs to run at 250mhz.. unless thats 250mhz on the 1.66 divider which is 165mhz which boggles my mind cuz ur CPU is running at 270mhz. .aiyaaahh what kind of rams do u have? :p

It's on 489MHz - 300FSB * 1.66 divider

It's 2 512 sticks of Veritech, it just went higher and higher! I was amazed myself!

RAM is on 2.9v (Highest the Board will go), CPU 1.55v

no they are not yet in production. they are still in testing phases and will not be available in stores as a stand alone CPU until late 2006 or early 2007.

are they gonna be cost effective CPUs? or gonna be like.. $500+ ?

btw i got a new super pi record :p

1M = 35s
2M = 1m 25s

>=P and this TOO is a 3000+ hihihihi *eviL*
