Intel has made many price reductions on its mobile processors as of 2004 Q4, and AMD has of course followed suit. Intel today chopped 30 percent off the price of its Centrino 755, reducing it to $495 from $709 (pricing based on 1000-unit quantities.) Overall, price cuts on the Centrino line ranged from 10 to 30 percent, and there were also some reductions on the stand-alone Pentium M processors.

AMD followed this with many price cuts on its mobile line. For example, AMD lowered the price of its top-selling Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 3400+ to $243 from $432 (again, based on 1000-unit quantities.)
