Steve Jobs has been outlining his thoughts and opinions on the future direction of podcasting, which iTunes 4.9 (Windows/Mac) now officially supports. Countering rumours saying that podcasts might be available only by subscription, Jobs said that he believed podcasting should remain a free phenomenon. He also claimed he had strong objections against pornographic or copyright-infringing podcasts, but that apart from these restrictions, podcasting should be free to develop and grow.
