One of the most overcooked topics recently has been Jack Thompson vs the Game Industry, with rampant accusations coming from all sides. Jack Thompson has been put into question several times before, and though recently stated he withdrew from the case that initially gave him fame, it's now been revealed that his license to practice was pulled. On a temporary basis, Mr. Thompson was practicing in Alabama, the state in which the crime occurred. Judge Moore suspended Thompson, citing his courtside behavior. The case is still going on, however.
"The removal of Thompson from the case does not necessarily represent the end of the trial, as his long-time associate Ray Reiser will assume the role of lead counsel for the case's plaintiffs."
Most of this has always boiled down to where personal responsibility ends and corporate responsibility begins. Games are a huge part of the modern world, and this controversy is likely only going to grow.
