Nobody likes spam. I suspect that not even the spammers like spam, so one wonders why they continue to inflict stress upon others. Going a step beyond just sending e-mails, one spam company decided to take it to a new level of aggravation by filing a lawsuit against the University of Texas for blocking their spam e-mails. The U.S. Supreme Court let stand an earlier ruling that said the University could do as they pleased. The University began blocking e-mails after requesting the company halt the spam, which is a pretty well rounded way of saying "No thank you." Some don't get it though. Chalk one up for the University as well as the courts, hopefully giving more leeway to other institutions to help reduce the flood of spam people get every day.
University of Texas and the courts say "no" to spam
