Speaking at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, this morning, Nintendo representatives announced two new games for the Wii - "Super Mario Strikers Charged" and "Battalion Wars 2"

Mario Strikers Charged (a sequel to "Super Mario Strikers") is likely to make full use of the Wii controller, allowing for blocking and special abilities. A demo featured at the Convention, for example, had Mario shooting fireballs at the goalie only to have another player block the shot using the Wii-mote as virtual hands.

As for Battalion Wars 2, very little information is known at present, and Nintendo remained fairly tight lipped about it. Neither of the two titles were given a release date.

There was also no further information on the Wii launch date or price during the presentation, but Nintendo have promised to make the launch date known within the next month or so.
