Amazon.com's much lauded "A9" has had a major revamping done. Among stripping down their interface, they have stepped down as a search engine and changed their focus, moving entirely away from the Google and Yahoo market. Instead, they are going to be delivering search results from Live.com, and will become a "customizable" search engine, where only certain categories and topics are search, per user preferences, rather than a global search. Likely, A9's failure to catch any real market share impacted this decision.
