MSI announced an update to its GX series of gaming notebooks today with the introduction of the GX620 and the GX720, both of which incorporate Intel's new Centrino 2 platform, Nvidia's midrange 9600M GTS graphics, and up to 4GB of 800MHz RAM.

Like their predecessors, the new models feature MSI's Turbo Drive Engine technology that allegedly overclocks the CPU by as much as 15 percent with the touch of a button. In addition, MSI's new Eco Engine will allow users to alternate between 5 different operating modes to either conserve battery life or stress performance.

The only difference between the GX620 and GX720 is the size of the display, with them sporting a 15.4- and 17.1-inch display respectively. Other key features include a 320GB hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, a two-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth capabilities, and Dolby 7.1 surround sound. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
