If you're a fan of solid state drives and have $1500 to burn, Super Talent has just the thing for you. While other vendors have already announced development of 512GB SSDs, Super Talent's new MasterDrive RX series is the first to actually hit the market. Only one unit out of the five in the series carries this much data, but it does so in a 2.5-inch form factor that claims read and write speeds as fast as 230 and 160MBps respectively.

Looking back a few years, it is impressive to see how quickly SSDs are catching up in terms of size to desktop hard drives. The largest mechanical disks currently available are 1TB to 2TB in size, making Super Talent's new drive only half to a quarter as large. I doubt Super Talent will see much demand for such an expensive drive, but it is still exciting to see an SSD this large. You can read more after the jump.
