Another former Apple executive is about to launch a new startup company, this time focused on delivering and setting up your new electronics. While many of us, certainly a large portion of the TechSpot community, don't want, never mind, need a "professional" setting up there new Xbox or iPhone, Ron Jonhson's new Enjoy technology services is banking on the fact that there are people who do.
The Enjoy site offers a curated selection of "the best of the best" electronics devices for the same price as you'll find them from the manufacturer. While that likely means it will be possible to find them for cheaper from retailers like Best Buy and Amazon, Johnson believes there are many that will pay extra for his premium delivery services.
Not only will Enjoy send over one of its current 80 professional employees to help you set up your new device, but it will be there within 4 hours and at the exact time and place of your choosing (home, office, coffee shop etc.). Currently the service is set to only offer products that are $200 or more, having already partnered up with the likes of GoPro, AT&T, DJI and more. Notably, Apple isn't involved yet, but those purchasing iPhones from AT&T can opt in for Enjoy's service. These employees can also be hired at $99 an hour to help out with other tech related set-ups and tasks for you as well.
While Enjoy will certainly have some competition in Amazon's new Home Services, Johnson's tenure as Apple's retail strategist will likely give the company a leg up. It is launching in San Fransisco today and in New York next week on May 13th.
