Watch this 3D printed, Arduino-based robot crack any Master Combination Lock in secondsBy Shawn Knight
TechSpot is celebrating its 25th anniversary. TechSpot means tech analysis and advice you can trust.
A few weeks ago, renowned security expert / hacker / entrepreneur Samy Kamkar detailed a method that can be used to crack any Master Combination Lock by hand in just eight tries or less. Now, he's automated the process using a 3D printed, Arduino-powered robot he calls Combo Breaker.
The mechanical hack takes advantage of a vulnerability in the combination lock that Kamkar details in a different video. While it's neat to watch and learn what's going on, it's pretty much common knowledge that you shouldn't use something as simple as a basic combination lock if you want something locked up to remain that way.
