A team of Google researchers working with the University of Washington have come up with a way to create time-lapse videos of popular tourist locations around the world sourced from the billions upon billions of photos that people have uploaded to the Internet.

The dialogue may be dull but what they’ve managed to accomplish is anything but, putting into perspective occurrences like melting glaciers that would otherwise go largely unnoticed over the span of several years.
