LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn’t break any new ground like LEGO Star Wars did. It’s very much the same formula with a sprinkling of new mechanics, though not all of them are all that great. Still, playing LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens rarely felt like a chore thanks to a large amount of charm and some wonderfully designed levels.

What could have been a cash-in is another classic Lego game. The gameplay is strong, with its new, more sophisticated puzzles, stronger combat and brilliant flying sequences, while the visuals are absolutely brilliant, with the old camera issues on the decline. Yet it’s in the humour that you can really feel the awesome power of the force. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a smile-generating, laughter-brewing machine, and you’d have to really hate the movie not to love the game.
Regardless of the numerous frustrations, I had a blast combing the game’s open worlds for hidden gold bricks, and seeing Harrison Ford in action again as Han Solo. I can't stress just how cool this is, and he did a fantastic job reprising his role. A Lego title is a strange choice to deliver new Star Wars story material, but it works surprisingly well, and gives fans plenty of interesting and new content to digest.
With Episode 7 reigning over the film world, Zen Studios wasted no time getting another batch of Star Wars pinball tables out for their Pinball FX2 platform. We've seen tables for nearly all of the movies up to this point and some of the animated shows,...
Rating this playset is tricky. As a game it's pretty average, and it's disappointing to note how flat and generic Infinity's game design is becoming, particularly when you compare it to the inspired lunacy of Lego Dimensions or the smart,...
It's touches like these that lift the game's slow sections, and while overall it's light on story, the package as a whole will likely remain attractive for Star Wars aficionados and younger Force fans. I just can't help but wonder what might have been, though, if the project's scope had been set out a little later, and if the rest of the game had been filled with the same pacing of the game's prologue to complement its polished gameplay. A small shame, as while Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens solves one long-running issue with the series, its arrival forces another.
