While Rift Apart is fully playable in its current state, our recommendation is for PC gamers to wait for a few updates before buying or playing this game. If you wait, you will be rewarded with a better experience that is hopefully free of crashes and other bugs. Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but PC gamers to see Rift Apart at its best, not with bugs and crashes.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is an amazing game, looking and running even better on PC. However, this version does come with caveats and even some downgrades such as crashing and slightly different weapon functionality. PS5 is still the best way to play, but for those who adore the series like me it’s well worth double dipping.

The excellent Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart gets a very strong port. It has a few blemishes but this is still the absolute best way to play a game that’s an adventurous blast from start to finish.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC is a near-perfect port of the fantastic PS5 game, giving those on PC the chance to experience its exciting action sequences, emotional character moments, and cutting-edge graphics. There have been a number of poorly-optimized PC ports this year, but luckily, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has bucked the trend and redeemed the PlayStation-to-PC ports after the disappointing Last of Us Part 1. It's an incredible game no matter where one plays it, but it's definitely cheaper to play it on PS5, so fans should keep that in mind.

Overall, the Rift Apart PC port has the ambition and much of the execution of a great Nixxes release and some might say that its use of DirectStorage 1.2 is groundbreaking - it's a technology that will prove essential for PC ports once developers really start to push storage hard on the console storage. However, the launch version arrived with several issues and oversights, only some of which have been tackled with the first hotfix.
