Welcome To Elk

I longed for the safe haven of a clear divide between fact and fiction, but I think there's a lot of merit in Triple Topping's experiment, especially as it exists to both pay homage to the real storytellers and to facilitate debate about how we tell stories and create new ones. If you've an interest in storytelling, it's certainly worth taking a trip to Elk and experiencing it yourself.

Welcome To Elk does something new, experimenting with narrative form while managing to tell an effective story that touches on tragedies inherent to remote island life, as well as the many joys and wonders. You’ll meet a bunch of strange characters and explore an utterly charming place, while never quite knowing where things will go next or how reality might intrude upon the fiction.

Best of all, though, it does it with a softness and laughter that one wouldn’t expect. The topics dealt with in the game may be difficult for some, but those that shy away from the game will be missing out on an experience like none other. It may be short, but Welcome to Elk is an adventure like no other, and one that everyone should experience.
