Benchmarks: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Dead Space

Another game that the Radeon HD 4800 series excels in is Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and here we see the 4870 X2 rendering an incredible 93fps at 2560x1600. Surprisingly the Radeon HD 4870 1GB was the next fastest card with 59fps, and it would seem that these ATI graphics cards work very well in OpenGL-based games.

Nvidia's SLI on the other hand appears to be near useless with the GeForce GTX 260 SLI configuration beating a single GeForce GTX 260 by just 5fps at 2560x1600. The GeForce GTX 295 was even slower than a single GeForce GTX 280.

Take one, give one. Dead Space is all Nvidia.

The Radeon HD 4870 X2 was only able to match a single GeForce GTX 260 at 2560x1600, while the GeForce GTX 280 was 15% faster. Sticking two GeForce GTX 260 cards in SLI allowed for an 83% performance boost over a single card. The GeForce GTX 295 was slightly faster reaching an insane 191fps at 2560x1600.
