Hitman, Just Cause 3, KC: Deliverance, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Overwatch

Hitman is another heavily CPU bound title and here the 8700K was around 15% faster on average, so a decent performance advantage for Intel then.

Just Cause 3 is another old title that we've decided to include and here the 2700X competes very well with the 8700K when looking at the frame time performance. That said the Core i7 processor does slip away a little at 720p and 1080p when looking at the average frame rate.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is another title where we see similar frame time performance at 720p and 1080p, but when looking at the average frame rate the 8700K does pull ahead, this time by up to a 19% margin.

Although Mass Effect Andromeda launched with a good many issues it has to be said the game was still quite well optimized and does play well on AMD hardware. Here the 2700X and 8700K deliver very similar performance, the Core i7 processor was a whisker faster but honestly not a great deal in it.

If you think the Overwatch results at 720p look strange for the Core i7-8700K, it's not a mistake, the game just has a 300 fps cap. Moving to 1080p we see that the 8700K is up to 11% faster while that margin is reduced to just 4% at 1440p.
