Overclocking Performance
Unfortunately, overclocking Gainward's GTX 680 Phantom wasn't a huge success as we only squeezed another 76MHz out of the core. This put the card at 1160MHz, 7% higher than the factory overclock and 15% above the default clock. The memory gain was even worse as we reached just 6532MHz, 4% above the factory overclock.
Our overclock resulted in another 3fps in Just Cause 2. While an average of 81fps at 2560x1600 might be impressive, we hoped to push this card a lot harder. A similar 4fps gain was achieved when testing Battlefield 3 at 1920x1200, while our custom overclock gave the Phantom a 5fps boost in The Witcher 2, besting the GTX 590.
