Intel Core Ultra 5 225F

So, moving on, what else can we say about the Core Ultra 5 225F? Unfortunately, nothing positive. As we've already alluded to, even ignoring the current DRAM situation, the 225F simply isn't a compelling product at $160 – for anyone. That explains why, after nearly a year on the market, we can count the number of requests we've seen for this processor on one hand.

Intel's Core Ultra 5 225 is an economical CPU with performance and features commensurate with its price. Intel's own Core Ultra 5 250K Plus casts a long shadow, though, relegating this chip to bargain buys only.

The Core Ultra 5 225 is too expensive to justify, falling short on all counts against the Ryzen 5 9600X for the same price. With a slight cut, however, it becomes much more compelling, as recent budget CPUs below $150 have largely dried up.

During our test, there were no applications that even the small Intel Core Ultra 5 225F couldn't handle. Gaming is also child's play for these processors. Their significantly lower power consumption and easy cooling, which is particularly interesting for compact systems, should be noted as positives.
