Greetings distinguished Malware slayers, I'm pretty sure I have been infected with some kind of Malware/Virus 1-2 days ago, but so far my attempts at removing it have been unsuccessful. When I use google search and click on a link, it will redirect me to some random spam site. This happens most of the time, but enough retries usually sends me to the right place. This problem is intermittent, sometimes it won't redirect me and sometimes it will... What bothers me is Windows telling me that the Security Center is disabled. When I try to enable it, it simply says "The Windows Security Center Service could not be started" with no specific error code. If I open services.msc as Admin and try to set it as Automatic and Start it manually, it seems to work for a couple of seconds but then deactivates on it's own. Also, Windows Defender closes a split second after opening it. I've tried multiple things to fix the problem, and from now on I won't change anything without your approval, if you choose to help me. I will try to detail the things I tried as to facilitate the troubleshooting procedure. Updated and scanned with AVG, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware with no results apart from the occasional cookie. Rkill didn't find any processes to terminate. I tried TDSSKiller and it did find one object, but I didn't do anything about it (I can post the log if you want, but since then I reinstalled some programs..) I ran Temp File Cleaner, and I then uninstalled AVG and Malwarebytes' and booted in safe mode, reinstalled both. I found like 140 tracking cookies, but still no joy. I also updated Java and Adobe Reader. Now one important thing to note is that I haven't kept up with Windows Security updates at all... Should I install all (or some) of windows' Security updates before trying anything else? I will be posting the logs in the next message. Thanks for your time!
