Well I'm pretty sure after reading some of the posts from the internet, that I have contracted the "rpcss.dll" virus to my computer. It's a very persistent virus, and with my sorely limited knowledge of computer systems, I'm going to need very thorough step-by-step instructions on how to get rid of this bugger. I tried some of my own steps and came across that lovely "black screen reboot" when I attempted to change the file. And for now, my crux on system restore has kept me from losing my computer completely to the cyber criminal void, but I want it gone completely. I noticed a couple of threads through this website, but I'm a guy that prefers to get the instructions from someone who knows what their doing, instead of jerry-rigging my own anecdote. As far as security/anti-spyware/anti-malware programs: I am running ESET Smart Security 6.0.308.0 with virus database 9670 Thank you to any of the TECHS who are able to help me with this issue, Stephen R P.S. I have provided both screenshots of my system - as well as my performance tab in Task Manager. I'm almost positive this virus is eating up my computer's memory.
