If you find yourself in the market for good fans, I have a couple suggestions. THe Noctua NF-P14 FLX (SSO bearing) and the Thermalright TY-140 ( EHFB bearing) are very good. both at 1300 RPM are under 20Dba and come with LN and ULN connectors/settings.
I would like to add my name in the jealousy department to this thread. You're pictures are great Mizzou, they almost belong in a porn mag (they're so delicious to look at). Good luck with this...I'll definitely be keeping tabs
OMG, going blind reading fan reviews but either of these looks like they could do the job. Have always had good luck with Noctua (quality wise) and this carries a 6 year warrantly plus it gets good reviews. Noctua NF-P12-1300 This Thermalright looks like it might be a good fit as well and costs a bit less. There are four models available ranging from 1000 to 200 RPM and all are the same price. Thermalright FDB 120mm x 25mm Thanks Benny
This is just wrong on so many levels. While Mizzou's photos are indeed very well done, you really shouldn't be getting any auto erotic stimulation from them. The whole anthropomorphization thing with the computer is a bit disturbing. Feel free to PM me should you need a link or eight, to assist you on the road to the type of sexual stimulation that only the human female should be able to induce. (Aw Benny, I"m jus' kiddin')...
Wow!... I usually get " I'm not kidding and **** you!":haha: You're getting soft in your old age. @ Miz, The ones I linked are ugly, but very quiet.
No? A few hours earlier with this salient information might have saved Mizzou's eyesight Still, they say that the other senses can compensate. Putting the system together solely by touch could be quite an achievement...and quite sticky (TIM application, guy- keep it seemly) Could get worse with in-car computers now becoming mainstream. DC as well as AC Whoa! Definitely kidding you Benny. "a link or eight" my a$s...I'm sure captain sould come up with a number of links many orders of magnitude more than that
I recall this one particular link...there was a donkey named Herbie and an exotic woman named Lotta Sorres. The man with the whip broke his wristwatch....oh dear...of topic again. Miz, the aforementioned fans: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9...and_120mm_Fan_Mount_Holes_7509001200_RPM.html http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...an_-_900R1300PM_Standard_120mm_Fan_Mount.html I have both and they are very quiet.
I'm going off to look for some naked women climbing all over construction equipment. Ideally, adorned with work boots and tool belts. Hopefully that will keep me on topic when I return.... Bulldozer....YAY....!
Hey Mizzou, looking good. Can't wait to see that system up and running and benchmarked. As far as 120mm fans go I looked for a while to replace the 200mm ones in my case (20mm deep ones) and read some good reviews of Xigmatek fans. For push pull on the rad I opted for Akasa Viper fans (quite quiet and decent CFM at lower speeds), although I'm not sure they do big 120mm versions.
They are indeed. Given Benny's current state of mind perhaps we should avoid the topic of sticky substances. I see that our taste in music is not the only thing we have in common. Sounds boring. I'll check out the Akasa Vipers, sounds like the right combination of features. Not sure how the 1100T (for now) will stack up against your 2600K but we'll give a go
I wasn't going to say anymore on the matter, but you leave me no choice now. All i did is voice an opinion that sits inside all true modders. You know i'm right....No modder can risist the smell of a brand new part, or the smell inside its new packet (the motherboard manual smells great also), It's like the perfume of a well looking lady. There's nothing like a quiet sit down with a hot cuppa, and you're brand new part(s) in front of you, ready to be slowly opened....and checked over, very carefully. Only liers disagree! :haha:
....You and your motherboard need to get a room How would you like to be on the other end of this RMA?
Well this is certainly an interesting conversation! :haha: I'm also now boycotting the word "RMA".... My faulty RAM needs sending to Taiwan at my expense, and having just got quotes its cheaper to buy another 8GB of RAM! Argh!! :haha: Nice pictures by the way Mizzou. (See that, I kept it kinda on topic!)
After digesting numerous reviews have elected to go with the Panaflo H1A. It appears to be a real performer and is at least reasonably quiest for a fan offering this much airflow. Came across a good review on Xbit and they gave it pretty high marks, details on the Panaflo H1A performance can be found here. Have just a few more parts to round up and then should be able to start pulling this together.
Corrected. Hmm the Viper doesn't get a good result. Guess it was just such an improvement over the default corsair fan I never checked more than a few reviews that seemed to have good things about it.
Well yes, new parts do smell very good, and I suppose that a similar sentiment could be could be invoked pertaining to your friendly neighborhood vestal virgin. Who BTW, secretly wants to be checked over "very, very, carefully"..... But, human pheromone laced mucal secretions and various chemical compounds do smell very differently. Perhaps, "more pleasant", could even be argued in favor of many organic compounds in the ketone-acetone family which tend toward being both intoxicating and sweet smelling simultaneously. So, in furtherance of your endeavours in "differential smell analysis", always remember what the blind man said when he walked past the fish market.....; "hello ladies". In a feeble attempt to remain on topic let me say this; "I'd sure like to bulldoze her for a bit, probably twice".......
